Access to Healthcare Network (AHN) is a local non-profit dedicated to helping meet the healthcare needs of individuals and families in our community.

The initial seed money came to AHN in 2005 through a Healthy Community Access Program grant, applied for by a local consortium of community health care providers.  In 2006 Sherri Rice was hired as Executive Director, marking the beginning of the remarkable program we have today.  Now, just two short years later, we can say with full conviction that this program is saving lives in our community.  The speed with which all of this has happened leaves us feeling more than a little breathless.

In two short years we have moved from a collaboration of well-meaning partners to an organization of vision and community leadership.  Our mission: providing access to care for the uninsured working poor.  We've accomplished this through a true community partnership that includes our visionary Executive Director and her staff, our diverse and committed Board of Directors, the inspiring commitment of Renown Health and Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, and the generosity of more than 450 local health care providers.  Together, they are the heartbeat of this program.

Over the last year we have enrolled more than 1500 uninsured people into our program.  Many of them have received medical care that has changed their lives significantly.  Several members have received treatment for cancer.  One member was able to walk without pain for the first time in years due to a double knee replacement surgery.   A young mother cried in our office when she found out she could finally afford to take her 16-month-old daughter, who was having seizures, to a specialist.  Through our numerous community partnerships we have been able to create innovative solutions to some very complex problems, and with unprecedented success.

We look forward to the challenges ahead, knowing the Access to Healthcare Network is bringing a new model of healthcare delivery to our community.  We thank everyone who has given of their time and energy to make this program a success.  Most of all, we thank you for looking to the future with us as we tackle the problems of today.
