Become a Provider

Access to Healthcare Network (AHN) is a comprehensive network of healthcare providers who offer their services for cash fees to the uninsured “working poor”, people who make too much to qualify for Medicaid, but cannot afford an insurance policy. Anyone who falls into this income bracket may sign up for our program for a very small monthly membership fee. They then have access to discounted fees at all of our providers’ offices. We are NOT insurance. We are a non-profit program for uninsured people. The providers always get paid through our program, with the payment coming from the patients at the time of service.

The goal of our program is to help uninsured people get the care they need in a way that allows, and in fact requires, them to be financially responsible. For example, we do not give ER discounts unless a member is actually admitted to the hospital.  Recently we've been able to show that this model keeps people from using the ER inappropriately.  This is because we give them options:  their own primary care provider and a network of urgent care clinics they may access for discounted fees.  Our members do not use the ER unless they have a true emergency.  If they do need ER services, the physicians who participate in AHN know they will be paid for the emergency care they administer.

Our Washoe County network includes hospitals, clinics, physicians of all specialties, imaging services, labs, dental and vision providers, and pharmacies. Our Churchill County region has over 20 local providers including Banner Health hospital in Fallon, primary care and specialty care physicians, dental and vision providers, imaging services, and pharmacies.  We now offer services in the Carson City Region, and in White Pine County.  We will open in Clark County on July 5, 2011, and in Humboldt and Pershing Counties shortly.  The Elko and Nye County regions will open later this year. Because we are not insurance, but rather a non-profit medical discount plan, our members pay for all of their own healthcare costs. Also, our providers have the option of limiting the number of AHN members they see each month. This number can be changed at any time.

We currently have a base of more than 1300 providers in Nevada.  We would welcome your participation in our network as well.

There are many reasons to join our group of providers:

  • AHN members are required to pay cash at the time medical services are provided. There is no billing involved, and no waiting for insurance reimbursement, prior authorizations, or utilization review.
  • We do not discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.  If you have a patient who needs comprehensive care, and cannot qualify for insurance, he or she will be able to get whatever care they need through our network, and at prices they can afford.
  • This is a way to be involved in community service without having to give your expertise away for free.
  • Our members each have a care coordinator who manages their care and their payments, thereby removing that responsibility from your office staff.
  • Those care coordinators also take care of referrals, relieving your staff of that task as well.
  • AHN offers a comprehensive network of doctors, hospitals, labs and specialists to meet your all of your referral needs.
  • Providers can control the number of AHN patients they see each month.
  • AHN helps cut down on inappropriate ER usage by not offering ER discounts unless the member is either admitted to the hospital, or has a note from an urgent care or other medical provider sending them specifically to the ER.
