Q: IF I JOIN AHN, DO ALL OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS IN MY HOUSEHOLD HAVE TO JOIN TOO?
A: No, any uninsured person who meets AHN eligibility requirements can join but we do not require entire households to join.
Q: CAN I JOIN AHN IF I HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE?
A: No, if you have health insurance you do not qualify for AHN.
Q: WHAT DOES UNDERINSURED MEAN?
A: Underinsured means that you have health insurance but it does not cover all health care services. For example, some people have health insurance that does not cover maternity care, these people are underinsured.
Q: CAN I JOIN AHN IF I AM UNDERINSURED?
A: In some cases AHN can allow underinsured people to join the program.
Q: I'M PREGNANT, CAN AHN HELP ME?
A: Yes, as long as you meet AHN’s eligibility requirements.
Q: I HAVE CANCER, CAN I JOIN AHN?
A: Yes, as long as you meet AHN’s eligibility requirements.
Q: I HAVE MEDICARE, CAN I JOIN AHN?
A: No, If you have Medicare Parts A and B you don’t need AHN – you are fully insured! However, you can join AHN for our dental and vision program, as Medicare does not provide those benefits.
Q: I DON'T WANT TO APPLY FOR MEDICAID OR NEVADA CHECK UP, CAN I JUST ENROLL IN AHN?
A: AHN can allow you to join for 3 months as long as you meet AHN’s eligibility requirements BUT we will require you to apply for Medicaid or Nevada Check-Up.
Q: I WAS DENIED MEDICAID AND/OR NEVADA CHECK-UP, AND I JOIN AHN?
A: Yes, as long as you meet AHN’s eligibility requirements.
Q: CAN I JOIN AHN OR ONLY DENTAL AND VISION SERVICES?
A: Yes, AHN has a Dental and Vision program that does not include medical discounts.
Q: HOW DO AHN AND COBRA WORK TOGETHER?
A: If you currently have COBRA and cannot afford it anymore , you will have to wait 12 months before AHN can allow you to join
If you were offered COBRA but declined it, you will need to wait 90 days to join AHN. If your COBRA expired you can join AHN.
Q: IF I HAVE A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION CAN I STILL JOIN AHN?
A: Yes, as long as you meet AHN’s eligibility requirements.
Q: DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL MY SERVICES AT THE TIME OF MY APPOINTMENT?
A: Yes, all services MUST be paid for before leaving the healthcare office or facility.
Q: WHAT IF I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE?
A: If you are unable to pay at the time of service you will need to schedule your appointment for a time when you will be able to pay for it.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I JOIN AHN AND SEE AN AHN PROVIDER BUT DO NOT PAY AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE?
A: You will be removed from the AHN program, you will be billed full charges and will not be able to rejoin AHN at any point in the future.
Q: HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MUCH MY SERVICES COST?
A: All AHN members are assigned a Care Coordinator at the time of enrollment, you will work with your Care Coordinator to find out about your health care costs.
Q: I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO AHN'S PROVIDER ARE, WHERE CAN I GET A PROVIDER LIST?
A: You can find AHN’s most current provider list by clicking here or calling your Care Coordinator.
Q: CAN I PAY MY MEMBERSHIP EACH MONTH?
A: No, AHN members cannot pay their membership fees monthly. AHN has three membership options available: 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.
Q: WHEN DO I PAY MY MEMBERSHIP FEE?
A: Membership fees are due at the time of enrollment. Renewal notices will be sent out at the end of the membership period.
Q: CAN I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?
A: Yes, you may cancel your AHN membership at anytime. If you decide to re-enroll you will be charged a $15 re-enrollment fee.
Q: CAN I GET A REFUND IF I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?
A: No, AHN does not issue refunds.
Q: CAN I HAVE MY MEMBERSHIP FEE WITHDRAWN QUARTERLY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT?
A: No, AHN does not offer recurring payment options.
Q: DO I QUALIFY FOR AHN?
A: You qualify for AHN if you are:
- Under/Uninsured
- Nevada Resident
- Meet our income guidelines
- Have a picture ID
- Prove Nevada Residence with a bill

Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
A: Proof of income, Picture ID, Utility Bill, Membership payment
Q: WHAT IF I MISS MY APPOINTMENT?
A: You will be added to waitlist and will not be able to enroll in AHN for 3 months. You will also be charged a $30 no-call/no-show fee when you do enroll.
Q: HOW DO I CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?
A: You must call 1-877-385-2345 at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being waitlisted and charged a $30 fee.
Q: WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO ARRIVE FOR MY ENROLLMENT APPOINTMENT?
A: Please arrive 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time.
Q: WHAT IF I AM LATE FOR MY ENROLLMENT APPOINTMENT?
A: If you are more than 15 minutes late you will have to reschedule and will have to pay a $15 reschedule fee.
Q: HOW DO I ENROLL MY UNBORN BABY?
A: Call your Care Coordinator once the baby is born.
