As an AHN member, you can access every medical service that our partner hospitals offer at discounted rates that AHN has obtained for you. People are often amazed at the rates AHN members receive but our hospital partners have provided this coverage through AHN and we are thankful for their contribution.
Hospitals currently in our network:
Renown Health (Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown Children’s Hospital, Renown Rehabilitation Hospital and all Renown clinics, urgent care centers and other medical services): northern Nevada
As an AHN member you select a doctor who will be your main doctor. This can be a family practice doctor, an internal medicine doctor, your gynecologist/obstetrician, or for your covered children, a pediatrician. AHN is fortunate to have a wide selection of these primary care physicians (PCPs) for you to choose from. Your primary care doctor will be your main caregiver and will help you determine your treatment plan and if you need the care of a specialist doctor and coordinate your care with your assigned AHN care coordinator.
People ask us if they can receive care for cancer as an AHN member. The good news is that you can receive care from the start of your needed services, such as X-ray tests and biopsies, through needed treatment such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and care by specialized local cancer doctors, as well as treatment at Renown Health and Saint Mary’s in northern Nevada, Carson Tahoe Hospital in northern Nevada. There is no need to feel as though you cannot receive the best care possible for your cancer diagnosis.
People ask us if they can receive care in specialty areas of medicine. In our network of physicians and other providers, we have almost every type of specialty medical care offered, including cardiology (heart), orthopedics (bone and joint care), to very specialized care – such as neurology (brain and nerve systems) and general surgery, spine surgery, cancer care, and physicians who can treat immune disorders, allergies, and so on. Our hospitals in our networks also offer an incredible range of treatment and services for almost every type of healthcare issue AHN members might have.
As an AHN member, you can receive your X-rays, and more specialized imaging tests such as CT scans, MRI, ultrasounds, mammograms, etc. from our providers at any one of our participating radiology/imaging centers or hospitals with those services.
You also receive your colonoscopy (an examination of your colon/bowel with a flexible “scope” to check for cancer or other problems) or other stomach or colon tests at discounted fees from our member physicians and the centers that do these procedures. It’s important to have an initial colonoscopy at age 50, or sooner if you have a family history of colon cancer.
If you pay for the program that also includes coverage for your dependents in your family, your children can receive the care they need as well. They will be able to receive care from a pediatrician (doctor for babies and children) in our AHN network, as well as their needed routine immunizations. They can also go specialists for children, such as pediatric cancer specialists, pediatric neurologists (brain and nerve system specialists), Ear/Nose and throat doctors, and pediatric orthopedics doctors (bone and joint). You also have hospital care for your children.
The maternity care program offers AHN members a package that provides all your prenatal care, and the services of your physician to delivery your baby, as well as the hospital fee. The package price is $1423, compared to an average “regular” bill of $8,400, which is what you might have to pay if you had to pay all of the parts of this package on your own.
Your laboratory and ultrasound services are not included in the package price, but you can still access them at low AHN discounted rates.
With this package, you get to access the low rates at our member hospitals, which is only $400 for mom and baby for 24-hour stay.
If you want to stay another day you just pay another $400. And you also receive a check up for your baby two weeks after delivery since your new baby is automatically signed up as an AHN for 30 days for free. You take your baby at two weeks after birth to a pediatrician you’ve chosen.
In addition to the maternity care package there are many other women’s health services for AHN members.
Prevention – You can get your annual gynecology exam for $65 at a family doctor or gynecologist on our AHN doctor list, and your annual PAP smear for $23. Annual PAP smears are important, especially if you have a family history of cancer of the cervix or uterus.
Mammogram – You can receive screening mammograms at discounted AHN prices. Routine mammograms are important for women, especially if you have a family history of breast cancer.
Colonoscopy – since colon cancer in women is on the rise, it is important for women at age 50 to get an initial colonoscopy (examination of the colon/bowel with a “scope”). If you have a family history of colon cancer, your doctor may suggest a colonoscopy earlier than age 50.
Birth control - AHN members can receive discounted birth control prescriptions through our prescription services program that is part of our discounted healthcare program.
Women’s surgeries –- You can receive the services of AHN providers, such as your surgeon, anesthesiologist and the hospital or surgery center for commonly needed women’s surgeries such as hysterectomies.
Breast cancer treatment– As an AHN member you would have access to discounted care for breast cancer, from initial X-rays and biopsies, to chemotherapy and radiation, to surgery (including surgery to provide breast tissue replacement after a mastectomy), as well as the services of outstanding physicians skilled in care of women with cancer.
As a member of the AHN healthcare discount program, you get discounted prescription medications. You can receive discounted prescriptions at Solaris, Safeway, and (coming soon) Relays and Von’s. In addition you also get a CVS/Caremark card – which gives you access to discounts on prescriptions at hundreds of pharmacies statewide, including Wal-Mart.
