Uninsured Children

Access to Healthcare Network (AHN) is the statewide coordinating agency for Covering Kids & Families (CKF), a program for uninsured children under 19 years in Nevada. CKF provides outreach to promote health care coverage in Nevada by recruiting those eligible for Medicaid or Nevada Check Up and assisting with their insurance applications.

As a program of Access to Healthcare Network, Nevada Covering Kids and Families links families with uninsured children to healthcare by providing application assistance, outreach and public education to not only Nevada's uninsured population, but also the community based organizations that serve them.

Low-Cost Healthcare for Children

Narrowing the gap between the number of children eligible for Nevada Check Up and Medicaid and the number who benefit is critical. We do this by: facilitating statewide training on health care options; developing partnerships to promote health care, education, awareness; and mobilizing community partners to assist families in obtaining health care access.

AHN will assist with applications for, Nevada Check Up, provides low-cost, comprehensive healthcare coverage to low income, uninsured children under age 19 who are not covered by private insurance or Medicaid. Nevada Check Up has a quarterly premium ranging from $25 to $80 based on household income and how many children are in the applying family.
