What is the primary focus of this financial literacy training?
Bank of America offers financial literacy training in the community through our Better Money Habits® portal. This training is designed to provide education and advice to help people gain the knowledge they need to make confident financial decisions. Millions of people from all walks of life access our free, easy-to-understand resources yearly. This service offering is part of Bank of America’s commitment to fostering economic mobility and financial education.
Who can sign up for these financial literacy trainings?
All walks of life can sign up for these trainings. If you are just starting your journey, working and growing your financial plans, nearing retirement, or living in retirement, Better Money Habits has training and offerings for you. Accessing the content is easy at Better Money Habits® and only requires that new users answer a few short questions about what stage they might be in before beginning. Additionally, all content is mobile-friendly and offered in both English and Spanish. We are also launching in-person sessions at our local Financial Centers this year, where we have one of our experts review the Better Money Habits content with learners and answer their questions.
Who can benefit from these trainings?
Everyone can benefit from this service. Whether you are working full-time, self-employed, a student, an active military member, working part-time, or currently not working, this service offers beneficial training for individuals in all phases of their financial journey.
How long is the training?
Some courses are as short as a few minutes to read an article or watch a video, while an entire lesson might be as long as an hour. Each can be completed at the individual’s learning pace and referenced as needed.
What topics are covered?
This training covers various topics, including saving and budgeting, credit, homeownership, investing, and income and taxes. These are just a few of the hundreds of topics covered.
What is the cost of the training?
The great news is that Bank of America offers this free service, which is part of our commitment to our communities to foster economic mobility and financial education. The new in-person sessions at our local Financial Centers are also free to the public, not just Bank of America customers.
Can you talk about Bank of America’s grant funding for non-profits and giving back to the community?
We are proud of the financial literacy work that we are doing in our community, which is one of the ways we volunteer with local non-profits. Our 170 local teammates have given over 11,000 hours of their time to support the people and communities who need us most in the last 5 years. We also provide grants and matching gifts through the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, which has donated $1.9 million in Northern Nevada over the last 5 years. We support many of the organizations who are advancing economic mobility in Northern Nevada, including Access to Healthcare Network.
